Association of North East Councils (ANEC)
The Association of North East Councils is the political voice for local government in the North East. It represents all 25 local authorities in the region, throughout Northumberland, Tyne and Wear, Durham and the Tees Valley on issues of concern to them and the communities they serve.

CBI
The CBI helps create and sustain the conditions in which businesses in the UK can compete and prosper for the benefit of all. They work with the UK government, international legislators and policymakers to help UK businesses compete effectively.
Federation of Small Businesses (FSB)
The Federation of Small Businesses is the largest campaigning member based organisation promoting and protecting the interests of small businesses. They have nearly 4000 members in North East England.
Government Office for the North East (GO-NE)
GO-NE represents central government across North East England.
They work to deliver, influence and develop government programmes and initiatives at a regional and local level, by working in partnership with relevant organisations to meet local needs.
Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE)
HEFCE distributes public money for teaching and research to universities and colleges. In doing so, it aims to promote high quality education and research, within a financially healthy sector. The Council also plays a key role in ensuring accountability and promoting good practice.
Learning and Skills Council (LSC)
LSC is responsible for planning and funding high-quality vocational education and training for everyone. They aim to ensure young people and adults in England have the knowledge and skills matching the best in the world and are part of a fiercely competitive workforce.
North East Chamber of Commerce (NECC)
NECC is an independent membership organisation representing the interests of over 4,500 North East businesses on a regional, national and international level.
One NorthEast
One NorthEast is the Regional Development Agency set up in April 1999 to help the people of the North East create and sustain jobs, prosperity and a higher quality of life.

Universities for the North East (unis4ne)
unis4ne is the regional association of the North East region's five universities (Durham, Newcastle, Northumbria, Sunderland, Teesside) and the Open University in the North.
