Solutions for Business Portfolio

Solutions for Business was introduced in response to businesses asking for simpler, easier to access business support.  Offering fewer products will reduce backroom costs, taking duplication, waste and inefficiency out of the system without necessarily reducing the actual level of support available.

The main elements of SfB are:

• Business Link as the main route to support, providing an enhanced, impartial Information Diagnostic and Brokerage service (IDB).

• Streamline the 3,000 business support schemes to a single portfolio of 29 products and services shared across government to achieve consistency at national, regional and local levels.  This includes new and existing products and draws on the best of current practice.  All products are now in place.

• The Solutions for Business brand provides products with a similar look and feel and will help businesses quickly identify publicly funded business support.

The changes will help all companies - small large, new or existing, starting or growing - find the right support, be this with starting or growing - find the right support, be this with start-up, finance, export, skills, environment, innovation or growth.  The products will be monitored to make sure they are addressing business needs.
